Player Code of Conduct
Alameda Waterpolo Club
To participate with the Alameda Water Polo Club, all players must agree to a high standard of conduct.
In accordance with USA Water Polo, Inc., as well as Alameda Water Polo Club rules governing athletes’, coaches’ and parents’ conduct, Alameda Water Polo Club registered athletes, coaches, and parents shall demonstrate good sportsmanship. This includes, but is not limited to, avoiding the following conduct:
- Physically or verbally abusing, hazing, or taunting an athlete, coach, or referee or any person participating in or conducting a Alameda Water Polo Club sanctioned event including but not limited to making derogatory comments about such person’s race, sex religion, age, disability, national origin, or sexual orientation
- Using obscene gestures, profane or unduly provocative language toward an athlete, coach, referee, or any person participating in or conducting a Alameda Water Polo Club sanctioned event
Be on time to practice, bring your appropriate gear (towel, suit, goggles). After practice, assist in replacing swim lanes, goal boxes, and pool covers. Pick up any remaining trash.
Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your coach approach the official after the competition.
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background, or religion.
Athletes are expected to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner at all times and will abide by all federal, state and local laws, education code, Alameda Unified School Disctrict policies and regulations. Use of illegal drugs or weapons will not be tolerated.
